The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in November 2024 in Las Vegas seems to always deliver on expectations. Touted as the largest and most attended trade show in the aftermarket tire and auto parts industry, this show runs in parallel with the annual Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX). Both shows are typically not open to the public, so the rough attendance number of 160,000 “invite only” attendees is quite formidable. The sheer attendance number alone is attractive to
many businesses that want to participate and be connected to an industry that contributes over $170b yearly to the US economy.
Lizeo® is no stranger having exhibited at the SEMA show for almost ten years now. During the show, Lizeo® was there to showcase solutions such as (Price Data, Price Intelligence, MAP Manager, Consumer Intelligence, and Vehicle Fitment Intelligence) through video, onsite demos, and more. We saw strong foot traffic through our corner display in the North Hall (Business Services) section of the show. Not only did we have thoughtful engagement with serious buyers, we also were able to engage with existing customers that are often there with their own exhibition booths.
There was no shortage of vehicle manufacturers, tire manufacturers, after-market vehicle outfitters, etc showing off their modified show cars inside and outside the convention center halls. The modifications that a consumer can implement on almost any vehicle is vast and the SEMA show is a great showcase for this. What was notable is the number of light trucks, SUVs, and CUVs with creative lift kits, exhaust packages, oversized wheels/tires, exotic paint jobs, vehicle wraps and more. As consumer tastes continue to gravitate towards larger vehicles in the North American markets, vehicle modifications in this segment continue to grow.

While major tire manufacturers have less of a presence at the SEMA over the last 10 years, there are still major players who show up. Lizeo® observed over 15 tire manufacturers exhibiting at the show in the Tire Expo (South Hall). Many manufacturers often exhibit new tire lines across all tiers. One additional benefit that Lizeo® receives at the show is being able to collect and update tire manufacturer catalogs into our global database. By receiving this information “first-hand” in some cases, this helps the Lizeo® customer receive timely updates to their Price Data extracts and vehicle fitment updates.
Overall, this was a successful event as we view our (Lizeo’s) yearly participation as a marketing investment back to our company. While the tire and automotive industry is very competitive with supporting partners, this is also an industry that’s primarily built on relationships, networking, trust, and good personal communication. We (Lizeo®) have some serious equity in these characteristics and participate at the SEMA show to continue build upon our trusted reputation.
